Most of you have probably registered for classes by now- congrats! Please keep stopping by and telling us what classes you’re taking and how you like them! It is always fun to hear about new courses, different departments, and overall life at U of C.
Before the Fall Quarter officially begins next Monday, here are a couple of things to keep in mind:

Get in touch with the University of Chicago Service Center to set up an appointment- it is low key and low stakes. They will talk with you about your interests and then recommend service partners for you. Don’t miss on the opportunity to leave the ivory tower and get to know a different side of Chicago.
*UChicago has an Add/Drop option and there is definitely a shopping culture around the start of classes. If you just can’t decide between courses, this can be a great way to compare syllabi, etc. However, keep in mind that the quarters are very short and work can pile up quickly! Matt and I will encourage you all year to be strategic with your workload. Taking on an extra course for three weeks is a counter-example of such advice. This is all to say, feel free to check out classes, but maybe don’t prolong your choice.
You can always stop by or come to our office hours for tips on time management, etc (sign up sheet on Sarah’s window).

*Tonight is the meet-up for Social Committee! This is something very different from the Committee on Social Thought. Throughout the MAPH year, Social Committee uses funds to put together events like open mic nights, movie nights, study sessions, and more! We’ll meet at Jimmy’s (55th and Woodlawn) at 5 this evening to talk Social Committee over fries and pitchers.
